Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect from therapy?
Therapy with me is collaborative, structured, and rooted in mutual respect. We’ll balance open reflection with actionable tools so you can feel supported and see real progress. Some sessions may feel deep and reflective, others more practical—each one tailored to where you are that day.
Do you offer telehealth sessions?
Yes. All sessions are conducted virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This allows you to meet from the comfort of your own space while maintaining privacy and accessibility.
What is your attendance and cancellation policy?
Consistency is important for progress. Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a late fee. Frequent missed sessions may result in reevaluating readiness for ongoing therapy. You’ll receive reminders and can easily reschedule within the patient portal.
How do payments work?
I accept insurance through Headway for eligible clients and private pay for those who prefer direct billing. Payment is due at the time of session. Sliding scale options may be available for short-term needs.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in therapy is confidential with a few legal exceptions:
  • If there’s reason to believe you may harm yourself or someone else

  • If there’s suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly, or vulnerable adult

  • If required by court order or legal mandate

These boundaries exist to keep you and others safe, and we’ll always talk about them if they become relevant.

Are you available outside of sessions?
While I respond to administrative or scheduling messages during business hours, therapy itself occurs only during our scheduled sessions. If you’re in crisis or need immediate support between sessions, I’ll provide you with a list of 24/7 crisis lines and resources to ensure you’re never without options.
Where are you licensed?
I currently provide therapy to residents of New York and Connecticut. Connecticut clients are seen under private pay, while New York clients may use insurance through Headway.
Do you work with churches or faith organizations?
Yes. I partner with churches and faith-based organizations that want to integrate mental health support into their existing ministries. This might include designing referral pathways to licensed clinicians, training leaders in mental-health-informed pastoral care, or developing trauma-informed programming.
